Julia Kots is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker from Kharkiv, Ukraine. Her first feature film, Inez & Doug & Kira, was released in 2020. Julia's award-winning short films have screened on PBS and dozens of festivals worldwide, including Slamdance, Cinequest, Woodstock, Hamptons, and Chicago International. Her work has been supported by NYFA, IFP, AMPAS, ASCAP, Made in NY, as well as the MacDowell Colony. Julia holds an MFA from Columbia Film School and a BA from Yale. She works as an editor in narrative, documentary, and commercials. Julia is currently in post-production on No Baby On Board, a documentary about why more women are opting out of motherhood. Her upcoming narrative feature projects include a cross-generational romantic comedy called Separation Anxiety (lookbook), and a revenge thriller comedy called Damage CTRL, written by Farbota Lynn.
